Monday

L.I.T.- Light a path with Integrity and Truth (MS only)

L.I.T. (Light a path with Integrity and Truth) Let’s talk about current events, what’s in the news, social media & pop culture, how to listen, when to listen, and what touches or moves you.

Tuesday

Running Club

Kids will work on learning correct running form, feeling pride in what they accomplish, improving themselves, and find a love of running. No experience required, and everyone will succeed because of personal motivation, dedication, commitment, and team work.

Homework Helpers (Grades 3-8)

Students receive assistance from SRP teachers in completing their homework assignments. Students are provided a quiet, structured space where students can receive targeted assistance.

Wednesday

Robotics

Robotics Club guides students through the exciting world of robots. Students define what a robot is (and what it isn’t!), study the myths that surround robots, examine how robots are used in movies and stories, and consider how robots assist humans. They work on individual and exciting group challenges where they try to make a robot successfully complete a task. No previous computer coding experience is required, and no materials are required for participation. The Robotics Club is open to students in all grades.

Yearbook (Middle School only)

Yearbook is a wonderful way to meet new friends and express yourself creatively, and each student's contribution to the yearbook can be seen come to fruition when the yearbook arrives in May!  After being trained in how to use the TreeRing yearbook program, students are partnered up and given the opportunity to design a yearbook spread that they can work on both at our weekly Wednesday meetings or at home.  In addition to designing pages, throughout the course of the year students also help with various other yearbook-related tasks, including selling yearbooks, photography, working on promotions, and eventually yearbook distribution.

Thursday

Chess

After school chess clubs are also just a great, convenient way for students to get involved in the game of chess and make new friends. Learning and playing chess provides a host of benefits including improved memory, problem-solving skills, an enhanced ability to think ahead, and potential performance improvement in math and science. Our goal is to ensure that all of our students improve at chess, gain valuable life skills and, most importantly, have fun.

Homework Helpers (Grades 3-8)

Students receive assistance from SRP teachers in completing their homework assignments. Students are provided a quiet, structured space where students can receive targeted assistance.

Friday

Drama

The Drama Club is dedicated to bringing the joy and power of Drama to students by providing high quality dramatic programming at the beginner and intermediate levels. It pledges to offer participants the chance to experience the excitement and rewards of theatre arts while developing poise, social skills, confidence and the ability to work with others. All members are introduced to both the theory and practice of drama as part of their programming.

Minecraft

Minecraft serves as a means to bring together players of the game by providing a Minecraft Server. The somewhat competitive nature of the club encourages innovation in architecture, engineering, and design. Both experts and novices are encouraged to join and participate in a game that promotes more creative thinking than your average video game.
